Mechanical Engineer

Overview

MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Mechanical
Engineer to join our team in Silverdale
, WA
. This is an onsite position.

• Assist senior engineers in the design, development, and testing of engineering projects associated with Navy acoustics in the field of machine learning, UUVs, underwater acoustics
• Conduct research and gather data to support project requirements pertaining to underwater acoustics, UUV operations and signal processing
• Proactively prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to problem-solving discussions
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies

• Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited University in Mechanical Engineering or similar engineering field. Associates degree with 3+ years of experience or high school diploma with 6+ years of experience can be substituted for a degree
• Academic or professional experience using MATLAB for engineering simulations and signal processing
• Demonstrated understanding of machine learning principles and their application to automated systems
• Exposure to the design, testing, or operation of Unmanned Underwater Vehicles (UUVs)
• Knowledge of underwater acoustics

• Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited University in Mechanical Engineering or similar engineering field
• Internship or co-op experience in an engineering role
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex technical documentation
• Self-starter with excellent people skills

• Must have a current Secret security clearance

• The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and/or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.
