Position Overview

The
Manager, Radiology & Imaging
will oversee the daily operations of a hospital-based imaging department, providing leadership to a multidisciplinary team of imaging technologists and administrative staff. This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and continuous process improvement while maintaining accreditation standards and supporting organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the daily operations of the Radiology and Imaging department.

  • Supervise, mentor, and develop imaging technologists and administrative staff.

  • Manage approximately
    25-28 direct reports
    , including performance evaluations, coaching, hiring, and employee development.

  • Ensure compliance with imaging accreditation standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies.

  • Maintain high standards of patient safety, quality, and service excellence.

  • Oversee departmental staffing, scheduling, workflow optimization, and resource utilization.

  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing leadership, and interdisciplinary teams to improve patient care and operational performance.

  • Monitor quality metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Support imaging technology operations, including PACS exception management when applicable.

  • Ensure compliance with Washington State imaging licensure requirements and national certification standards.

  • Manage departmental budgets, productivity, and performance goals.

  • Participate in strategic planning and departmental leadership initiatives.

  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED and graduation from an accredited Diagnostic Imaging program
    or
    Bachelor's degree
    or
    equivalent related experience.

  • Current
    Washington State Radiologic Technologist registration
    (required by date of hire).

  • Current
    national certification
    in imaging modality (ARRT or equivalent nationally recognized certification).

  • Minimum5 years of clinical experience
    as an Imaging Technologist.

  • Minimum3 years of Radiology/Imaging leadership experience
    with direct reports.

  • Current or prior
    Assistant Manager, Manager, or higher-level leadership experience
    within a Radiology/Imaging department.

  • Experience conducting employee evaluations, hiring, coaching, disciplinary actions, and staff development.

  • Strong knowledge of imaging accreditation standards and regulatory compliance.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Multi-modality imaging management experience.

  • Hospital-based Radiology leadership experience.

  • Experience with integrated healthcare delivery systems.

  • PACS exception management experience.

  • Experience leading quality improvement and operational excellence initiatives.
