-06/16/2027 - Age Range of Students: 1:1 Support – Elementary and Middle School Student
- Experience: Requires School Based experience as an American Sign Language Interpreter (or Educational Interpreter) working with Deaf/Hard of Hearing Students
- Demonstrate fluency in American Sign Language to interpret and communicate effectively with the student and staff
- Interpret sign language for deaf students and voice for the student when needed
- Facilitate communication and educational access for deaf and hard of hearing student(s)
- Perform non-instructional signing activities; convert voice to sign language and vice versa
- Provide specially designed instruction as needed
- Execute accurate
, timely
, impartial, and effective signing, including strong receptive skills to understand rapidly signed communication - Apply principles, practices, and techniques of interpreting for deaf and hard of hearing individuals
- Utilize educational interpreting vocabulary and concepts in a school setting

- Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree preferred
- One of the following:
- Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) with a minimum score of 4.0 and a passing score on the EIPA written test
- National Interpreter Certification (NIC) from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID), and a passing score on the EIPA written test
- Additional state-specific requirements may apply
