Direct Digital Controls Technician – Tessera

Location: Multiple Locations – Silverdale (SWFPAC), Silverdale (Bangor), Bremerton (PSNS), Keyport (NUWC)

Type: Non-Exempt

Work Schedule: Full‑time

Compensation: $50.27/hour (fixed rate)

Typical Duties
  • Installs, programs, and configures direct digital control systems and related equipment.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves issues related to DDC systems, including sensors, actuators, and controllers.
  • Reviews and analyzes control schematics, diagrams, and system documentation to aid in diagnostics and repairs.
  • Collaborates with team members to design and implement system upgrades and improvements.
  • Educates and trains staff on the operation and maintenance of DDC systems.
  • Maintains accurate records of service performed, system changes, and inventory of parts.
  • Ensures compliance with all safety regulations and company policies during all operational procedures.
  • Monitors system performance and recommends energy‑saving upgrades or modifications.
  • Conducts routine maintenance and inspections on DDC systems to ensure accurate functionality and reliability.
  • This position may be subject to call‑back availability based on operational needs.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma/GED required;
    Associate degree preferred.
  • 0–3 years’ experience in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, HVAC Technology, or a related field.
  • Equivalent combination of experience and education allowed.
  • Experience with direct digital controls, building automation systems, or related technology.
  • Proficient understanding of control theory, HVAC systems, and energy management practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time.
  • Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.
  • Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.
Requirements
  • A valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance.
