American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Cardiac Stepdown for a travel nursing job in Silverdale, Washington.

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (PCU) night shift position requiring strong cardiac stepdown expertise and an active WA or compact RN license.

Responsibilities
  • Work in the Cardiac PCU (stepdown) on the 5th floor of an acute care hospital
  • Unit has 24 beds with a typical nurse to patient ratio of 1:3‑4 for PCU acuity
  • Patient population includes TAVR, post‑cath patients, temporary and transvenous pacemakers, VATS, lobectomies, POD 2‑5 CABG, and thoracic procedures
  • Nurses are required to titrate a variety of drips including nitroglycerin, heparin, cardizem, nicardipine, amiodarone, insulin, dopamine, esmolol, labetalol, milrinone, and argatroban
  • Monitor Techs provide offsite central monitoring but RNs are responsible for measuring and interpreting their own telemetry strips
  • Work schedule is 12‑hour night shifts (1900‑0730) with an every other weekend requirement; high need for Saturday, Sunday, and Monday coverage
  • Floating may be required within skill set, including to the 4th floor to take a PCU load
  • Uses Epic EMR;
    Epic experience preferred
  • No on‑call requirements
  • RNs are expected to function as part of a flexible, team‑oriented environment
  • Support includes access to charge nurse, CNAs, hospitalist, and 24/7 respiratory therapist dedicated to the unit
  • Orientation includes the option to test out of Epic if experienced in the last year; otherwise, an 8‑hour Epic class and onboarding are required
  • Holiday coverage will include at least one major holiday during the assignment
  • Any professional color scrubs are acceptable
  • First time travelers will be considered
  • Candidates must not have worked for any facility associated with Common Spirit, CHI, or Dignity in the past year (PRN via agency is allowed)
Requirements
  • Active WA or compact (NLC) RN license required at the time of consideration
  • Minimum 2 years recent PCU experience with strong cardiac background required
  • Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • Must be able to titrate cardiac drips and interpret telemetry
  • Must provide 2 professional references: one from a supervisor within the past 12 months, and one from a peer or supervisor within the last 3 years
  • Copy of valid driver's license required for consideration
