Unit: PCU Nursing Float | 32 beds

Offer:

Auto-offer based on clinical recommendation (start date & RTO must be manager-approved first)

Shift: 12 hrs (7–7)
Ratios: 1:4 | Free charge nurse | CNAs 1:8–12
Certs/License: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS | WA or Compact
EMR:
Epic | Tele:
Yes (nurses read strips)
Drips:
Nitro, heparin, Cardizem, nicardipine, amio, insulin, dopamine, esmolol, labetalol, milrinone, argatroban, Aggrastat
Support: RT, Pharmacy, Hospitalist & Intensivist 24/7; IV team 11:00–23:00

Schedule:

Every other weekend | Holidays required
Floating:
Yes (PCU patients on 4th–6th floors)
Orientation: 12 hrs policy + 12 hrs with preceptor (+ Epic as needed)
Patients:
Cardiac, CVA/TIA, CHF, DKA, respiratory failure, renal failure, PE/DVT, post-cardiac procedures
Notes:
Busy unit, high turnover; CAPD a plus, not required
