This contract position is on-site, providing an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment within the Medical Practice industry.
As a Locum NP or PA, you will play a crucial role in patient care, working alongside a skilled surgical team to deliver high-quality services. Your contributions will directly impact patient outcomes and overall department efficiency. We prioritize a collaborative work environment that fosters professional growth and development in the field of cardiothoracic surgery.
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8-hour day shifts
Call Requirment: 5p-7a, weeknights and weekends
Daily Volumes: 5-10 patients, 0-3 admissions, 2-7 ICU, 1-2 surgeries
Patient Population:
Adults
Required Procedures:
General CV/thoracic surgery, coronary artery bypass surgery, valvular repairs, and replacements
Support Staff: RN navigators, MAs, physicians & midlevels
EMR:
Epic
Must be board-certified
Paid travel & expenses
Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients before and after surgical procedures
- Assist in the operating room and provide support during cardiothoracic surgeries
- Monitor patient recovery and manage post-operative care
- Collaborate with surgeons and other medical professionals to optimize patient treatment plans
- Maintain accurate and thorough patient records
- Educate patients and their families about surgical procedures and recovery processes
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives
- Stay up to date with advances in cardiothoracic surgical practices and protocols
- Associate degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant program
- Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
- Experience in cardiothoracic surgery preferred
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR)
