Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Nights, 12-hour shifts (specific start/end times not provided), Every Other Weekend schedule with nights on Friday and Saturday (EOW nights); guaranteed 36 hours/week

Candidate Pay Rate: $74 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Attend deliveries independently and provide hands-on support during labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum
  • Circulate and assist in C-section procedures, collaborating with anesthesia and OB teams
  • Perform newborn transition and initial care, including assisting with resuscitation per NRP
  • Safely titrate drips such as magnesium, Pitocin, and insulin per unit protocols
  • Assess and manage high-risk obstetric patients (preeclampsia, diabetes, substance use, psychosocial issues)
  • Use EPIC and Centricity Perinatal for accurate charting and electronic fetal monitoring documentation
  • Collaborate with unit colleagues, charge nurses, and in-house specialists to maintain AWHONN guideline ratios and quality care
Qualifications
  • Active RN license (ability to obtain WA licensure as required by the facility)
  • Minimum 2 years of L&D experience (will consider 1 year with multiple prior travel assignments)
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP
  • Comfortable attending deliveries independently and circulating in C-sections
  • Experience with newborn transition/care and titration of common OB drips
  • Willingness to adapt to unit workflows, policies, and constructive feedback
Education
  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensure required; BSN not required
Knowledge & Skills
  • Labor & Delivery and Mother-Baby/Postpartum clinical expertise
  • LDRP workflow and C-section circulation experience
  • Newborn transition skills and NRP competency
  • Fetal heart monitoring familiarity (Intermediate/Advanced FHM preferred)
  • Proficiency with EPIC charting and Centricity Perinatal EFM system
  • Tele/monitoring familiarity and ability to read strips as needed
  • Ability to work in a high-volume unit (150-180 births/month) and manage acuity
