Travel RN - Telemetry

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med-Surg/Telemetry position at a Level I Trauma facility in Washington, requiring active WA or Compact RN licensure and a minimum of 1 year of acute care experience.

• Active WA state or Compact (NLC) RN license required; pending licenses will not be accepted
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; pending certifications will not be accepted
• Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in acute care required
• 2 years of experience preferred
• BSN not required
• A copy of your driver's license is required for consideration
• 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked, and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years — both must include dates of employment and eligibility for rehire

• Acute care hospital setting, Level I Trauma Center
• Med-Surg/Telemetry unit (North Tower
  5) with 18 beds
• Patient population includes medical-surgical overflow: CHF, DM, UTI, non-critical sepsis, HTN, COPD, isolation, end-of-life/palliative, awaiting placement, and post-op general surgery patients
• Patient ratio of 1:4 or 1:5 RN to patient; CNA support at 1:9
• RNs are required to titrate drips, limited to Heparin and Cardizem (up to 10mg/hr)
• RNs are required to read telemetry strips;
  Telemetry/Monitor Techs are present on the unit
• CPAP and BiPAP in use;
  High Flow oxygen is not used on this unit
• Charting via Epic EMR
• 12-hour night shifts
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• Holiday coverage preferred; details to be discussed during the manager phone interview
• No call or standby requirements
• Floating required as needed; travelers are first to float
• Orientation consists of 2 shifts
• Charge RN provides unit leadership and oversight;
  Nurse Aides are present on the unit
• No specific scrub color required
• Candidates who have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any Common Spirit, CHI, or Dignity Health facility within the past year are not eligible; candidates who worked PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered
• Local candidates are accepted for this position
• The unit manager conducts a phone interview as part of the selection process
