Requirements

• Active RN license (pending license accepted at submission)
• Minimum 2 years of Mother Baby/Postpartum experience
• BLS certification required
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
• BSN not required
• Experience caring for postpartum mothers and newborns in an acute care setting

Unit & Patient Population

• 28-bed Mother Baby/Postpartum unit
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:3–4 couplets
• Common patient population includes:
  • Postpartum mothers and newborns
  • Late preterm infants
  • Infants receiving phototherapy
  • Patients with preeclampsia

Skills & Responsibilities

• Provide postpartum care for mothers and newborns
• Monitor and manage magnesium and insulin drips
• Follow quality care bundles for:
  • Postpartum hemorrhage (PPH)
  • Hypertension
  • Neonatal hypoglycemia
  • Infant thermoregulation
  • Pain and Duramorph documentation
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe maternal and newborn
