American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a 10-week Med/Surg Telemetry night shift position at a Level I Trauma acute care facility in Washington State, requiring at least 1 year of acute care experience and active WA or Compact RN license.
Details- 18-bed Med-Surg/Telemetry unit (North Tower
5) in a Level I Trauma acute care hospital - Patient population includes medical-surgical overflow cases: CHF, DM, UTI, non-critical sepsis, HTN, COPD, isolation, end-of-life/palliative care, patients awaiting placement, and post-op general surgery
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 or 1:5; CNAs on unit with a 1:9 ratio
- RNs are required to titrate drips, limited to Heparin and Cardizem (up to 10mg/hr)
- Telemetry monitor techs are present on the unit; RNs are required to read strips
- Equipment used includes CPAP and BiPAP (no high-flow)
- EMR:
Epic - 12-hour night shifts; weekend requirement based on unit needs and demands
- Floating required as needed
- No on-call or standby requirements
- 2-shift unit orientation provided
- Active WA State or Compact (NLC) RN license — must be active at time of consideration; pending licenses are not accepted
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; pending certifications are not accepted
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in acute care required
- Driver's license required for consideration
- 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, each including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
- Charge RN provides unit leadership and support
- Holiday coverage is preferred; specifics to be discussed with the unit manager during the phone interview
- No specific scrub color requirement
- Candidates who have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any Common Spirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within the past year are not eligible; candidates employed PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered
