Position SummaryThe role of the Security Officer is to ensure a safe and secure environment for the residents, visitors, staff, and property of CRISTA Shores. This is accomplished by conducting routine patrols, providing information and assistance, responding to and investigating security‑related incidents, monitoring facilities and equipment, and documenting actions and observations during each shift.
Essential Functions- Perform unassisted routine preventive maintenance and provide a safe environment by patrolling and monitoring campus grounds and buildings, completing physical security checks, log taking, and monitoring alarm systems.
- Complete daily tasks including transporting trash to the dumpster, vacuuming public areas, setting up and tearing down seating.
- Monitor essential equipment and facilities, logging important information and responding to abnormal readings per policy.
- Respond rapidly and appropriately to emergencies, contacting emergency responders and using first aid/CPR training. Assist residents, staff and visitors calmly and professionally.
- Identify and respond to incidents, hazards and unauthorized activity, and contact appropriate staff to discuss the situation. Take appropriate action and follow facility policies and procedures.

- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Six months experience in general security duties or related field.
- Current valid Washington State driver’s license.
- Basic computer skills using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Able to communicate with seniors positively, courteously, confidentially, and professionally.
- Able to handle fast‑paced environment.
- Good judgment in responding to routine, urgent, and emergency situations.
- Able to give and follow written/verbal instructions.
- Safety and security conscience.
- Able to work collaboratively with supervisor, coworkers, and customers.
- Previous security and/or law enforcement experience, prior military service.
- CPR / First Aid.
- Military retiree.
