The role of the Security Officer is to ensure a safe and secure environment for the residents, visitors, staff, and property of CRISTA Shores. This includes conducting routine patrols, providing information and assistance, responding to incidents, monitoring facilities and equipment, handling urgent and emergency situations professionally, and documenting actions and observations during the shift.

• Perform unassisted routine preventive maintenance and provide and maintain a safe environment by patrolling and monitoring campus grounds and buildings, completing physical security checks, log taking, and monitoring alarm systems.
• Complete daily tasks such as transporting trash to the dumpster, vacuuming public areas, and setting up and tearing down seating in public areas.
• Monitor essential equipment and facilities, logging important information on designated equipment and responding per company policy to unusual readings.
• Respond rapidly and appropriately to emergencies by contacting emergency responders when needed and using first aid and/or CPR training. Assist residents, staff and visitors calmly and professionally.
• Identify and respond to incidents, hazards and unauthorized activity in a prescribed manner and contact appropriate staff to discuss the situation. Take appropriate action and follow facility policies and procedures.
• Work collaboratively with supervisor, coworkers and customers.

• Belief that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior.
• Is a committed Christian who is dedicated to continued spiritual growth and development as evidenced through a growing personal walk with God (e.g., daily spiritual rhythms of prayer, fellowship, Bible study).
• Prayerfully seeks God’s will in their own life and in their ministry at CRISTA.
• Engages with our ministry including staff and colleagues through prayer and spiritual practices.
• Affirms, aligns with and supports CRISTA’s Statement of Faith and Christian Community Representative Statement (CCC).

• Demonstrates the values of a CRISTA leader.

• High School diploma or equivalent.

• Six months experience in general security duties or related field.

• Current valid Washington State driver’s license.

• Basic computer skills using Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.

• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Able to communicate with seniors in a positive, courteous, confidential, and professional manner.
• Able to handle a fast-paced environment.
• Good judgment in responding to routine, urgent, and emergency situations.
• Able to give and follow written/verbal instructions.
• Safety and security conscience.
• Able to work collaboratively with supervisor, coworkers, and customers.

• Previous security and/or law enforcement experience, prior military service.
