Type: Non-Exempt

Work Schedule: Full-time

Compensation: $43.11/hour

Responsibilities

Tessera is seeking a detail-oriented Mechanic, Maintenance responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and orderliness of facilities and inspecting the condition and performance of equipment and machinery for business operations. The role involves maintaining equipment, repairing defective components, and installing and assembling equipment by analyzing mechanical schematics and blueprints. A maintenance mechanic creates a comprehensive schedule of inspection, repairs, and quality control checks to preserve safe standards of the premises.

  • Performs general maintenance of facilities including carpentry, mechanical, and plumbing work
  • Inspects mechanical systems and machinery to ensure proper operation by performing required maintenance, adjustments or repairs
  • Repairs or replaces faulty parts such as gears, valves, seals, and bearings
  • Uses and installs chain hoists or other lifting devices required for rigging equipment and hardware into position
  • Assembles, installs, tests and maintains mechanical systems, apparatus, and appliances using hand tools and power tools
Qualifications
  • High school Diploma/GED required
  • 0-3 years of experience in Facility Maintenance or closely related field
  • Ability to work in a team and communicate in a courteous and helpful way
  • Must be able to work safely and independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to perform manual labor for extended periods in various environments, including adverse weather and high places
Physical Requirements

Employees must be able to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. Reasonable accommodations may be made on a case-by-case basis.

  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours
  • Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may be required
  • Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods
Requirements
  • A valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain Tessera's insurance coverage
  • Access to a federal military installation requires a REAL
    -compliant driver’s license or an acceptable alternative (e.g., U.S. passport or military ) in accordance with the REAL
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access; a background check and E-Verify will be conducted
