Trades Assistant

Purpose:

* Valkyrie Enterprises has a need for multiple Trades Assistants who will assist skilled maintenance trades that may include Electrician, Welding, Pipe fitting, Brazing, Universal A/C&R Mechanic or, Riggers, sheet metal workers and painters/specialized coating applicators.
* This position is in Silverdale, WA.

Job Description:

* Assist workers in the skilled maintenance trades such as cable pulling, electrical connection box wiring, cable way management, paint, lagging, grinding, and cutting.
* Perform specific or general duties of lesser skill, such as cleaning working area, machine, and equipment; and performing other unskilled tasks as directed. Tasks vary.
* Perform maintenance and minor repairs to various electrical equipment and machines under supervision.
* Assist in receipt and inventory of material, tools, and equipment.
* Position may require ability to perform specialized machine operations.

Qualifications:

* Must have a High School diploma 0 years of experience in the field is required.
* Must have the ability to communicate effectively.
* Must have experience with basic hand tools. Desired

Qualifications:

* Knowledge and experience in shipyard operations and NAVSEA standards is preferred.
* Trade School completion or participation is preferred.
* Ability to obtain a passport is preferred. Security Requirements:
* Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance to access public and private shipyards and Naval installations.
* Must meet REAL  for base and travel access. Travel Requirements:
* Up to 50% travel nationwide to include international travel as needed.
* If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL . Physical Requirements:

* Position requires candidate to regularly lift up to 35 lbs.
* Must be able to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes. The exact weight requirements will be determined by the specific job, but no less than 20 lbs.
* Able to work on and climb ladders, work in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces.
* Able to perform other duties as required which may involve high heat, humidity, noise and dirty conditions, working aloft or over the sides of vessels.
* May ride ships at sea for extended periods.
