General Maintenance Worker III

General Maintenance Worker III (GM-3) performs skilled to highly skilled work in the general maintenance and upkeep of buildings, plumbing, electrical, structural, grounds, and equipment. Typical duties include but are not limited to:

• Painting, carpentry, siding repairs/replacements, and glass replacement in doors and windows.
• Minor plumbing, masonry, and concrete repairs.
• Minor electrical work, including replacing receptacles, switches, fixtures, and bathroom exhaust fan motors.
• Cleaning roof drains and gutters.
• Using plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls or ceilings.
• Repairing or replacing sinks, water coolers, and toilets; caulking plumbing kitchen fixtures.
• Communicating and interacting directly with customers and supervisors, informing them of unexpected or additional repairs and determining customer needs.
• Responding to customer inquiries and complaints and ensuring completed work meets quality control standards.
• Managing work using portable handheld electronic devices.
• Making difficult diagnoses and suggesting solutions and repairs to customers and supervisors.
• Coordinating with schedulers to update the status of repairs and estimate completion dates.

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 3 years of closely related experience.
• Knowledge of painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work preferred.
• Ability to learn a wide variety of building and ground maintenance tasks.
• Ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods of time, including in adverse weather conditions.

• Must be able to lift or move up to 70 pounds.
• May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and perform repetitive motion for several hours at a time.
• Work may require climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs.
• Must persevere to work effectively under pressure for extended periods.

• A valid state driver's license is required, with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance.
• Access to a federal military installation requires a REAL ‑compliant driver's license or an acceptable alternative such as a U.S. passport or military .
• Ability to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access.
• A background check and E‑Verify will be conducted for this position.
