General Maintenance Worker III

Location: Silverdale (Bangor)

Work Schedule: Full-time

Compensation: $38.00 - $38.00 /h

Job Summary

Tessera is seeking an experienced General Maintenance Worker III. The General Maintenance Worker III (GM-3) performs skilled to highly skilled work in the general maintenance and upkeep of buildings, plumbing, electrical, structural, grounds, and equipment.

Typical Duties

  • Responsible for painting, carpentry, siding repairs/replacement, glass replacement in doors and windows, minor plumbing, masonry, concrete repairs, and minor electrical work. Clean roof drains and gutters.
  • Replace electrical receptacles and switches, fixtures, and bathroom exhaust fan motors.
  • Use plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls or ceilings.
  • Repair or replace sinks, water coolers, and toilets; caulk plumbing kitchen fixtures.
  • Communicate directly with the customer and supervisors, informing the customer of unexpected or additional repairs and determining customer needs.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and complaints.
  • Ensure completed work meets quality control standards.
  • Use portable handheld electronic devices to manage work.
  • Make difficult diagnoses and suggest solutions and repairs to customers and supervisors.
  • Communicate with the scheduler to update the status of repairs and estimate completion dates.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • Minimum 3 years of closely related experience.
  • Knowledge of painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work preferred.
  • Ability to learn a wide variety of building and ground maintenance.
  • Ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods of time, occasionally in adverse weather conditions.

Physical Requirements

Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. These demands may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities on a case‑by‑case basis.

  • Lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.
  • Reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.
  • Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.
  • Perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.

Requirements

  • A valid state driver's license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera's insurance.
  • Access to a federal military installation requires a REAL ‑compliant driver's license or an acceptable alternative, such as a U.S. passport or military , in accordance with the REAL . A background check and E‑Verify will be conducted for this position.
