Job Summary
Mechanic, Maintenance – Silverdale, Washington (Bangor)
Non-Exempt, Full-time. Compensation: $43.11-$43.11/hr the Maintenance Inspector will schedule and conduct inspections of facilities, equipment, and systems at Naval Base Kitsap, Bangor, ensuring maintenance needs are identified early and safety standards are upheld.

Responsibilities- Performs general maintenance of facilities, including carpentry, mechanical, and plumbing work.
- Inspects mechanical systems and machinery to ensure proper operation by performing required maintenance, adjustments, or repairs.
- Operates trucks, tractors with attachments, loaders, forklifts, and riding mowers.
- Uses and installs chain hoists or any other lifting device required for rigging equipment and hardware into position.
- Assembles, installs, tests, and maintains mechanical systems, apparatus, and appliances using hand tools or power tools.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 0-3 years of experience in Facility Maintenance or a closely related field.
- Ability to work independently and safely in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills with a courteous and helpful manner.
- Capability to perform manual labor for extended periods in various environments, including adverse weather and high places.
- Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Perform repetitive motions, reaching, kneeling, walking, and climbing for several hours at a time.
- Stand or sit for extended periods, climb in and out of vehicles, and move up and down stairs.
- A valid state driver’s license is required; ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance.
- Access to a federal military installation requires a REAL
-compliant driver’s license or an acceptable alternative such as a U.S. passport or military . - Must obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access.
- A background check and E-Verify will be conducted for this position.
