Job Summary

Mechanic, Maintenance – Silverdale, Washington (Bangor)
Non-Exempt, Full-time. Compensation: $43.11-$43.11/hr the Maintenance Inspector will schedule and conduct inspections of facilities, equipment, and systems at Naval Base Kitsap, Bangor, ensuring maintenance needs are identified early and safety standards are upheld.

• Performs general maintenance of facilities, including carpentry, mechanical, and plumbing work.
• Inspects mechanical systems and machinery to ensure proper operation by performing required maintenance, adjustments, or repairs.
• Operates trucks, tractors with attachments, loaders, forklifts, and riding mowers.
• Uses and installs chain hoists or any other lifting device required for rigging equipment and hardware into position.
• Assembles, installs, tests, and maintains mechanical systems, apparatus, and appliances using hand tools or power tools.

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 0-3 years of experience in Facility Maintenance or a closely related field.
• Ability to work independently and safely in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills with a courteous and helpful manner.
• Capability to perform manual labor for extended periods in various environments, including adverse weather and high places.

• Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Perform repetitive motions, reaching, kneeling, walking, and climbing for several hours at a time.
• Stand or sit for extended periods, climb in and out of vehicles, and move up and down stairs.

• A valid state driver’s license is required; ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance.
• Access to a federal military installation requires a REAL
  -compliant driver’s license or an acceptable alternative such as a U.S. passport or military .
• Must obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access.
• A background check and E-Verify will be conducted for this position.
