Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Maintenance And Repair Duties
Performs a variety of maintenance and repair duties including cleaning, adjusting, repairing and replacing broken, lost and worn parts on a variety of equipment such as travel trailers, small engines, bicycles, lanterns, stoves, ice chests, back packs, fishing reels and poles, car top racks, powerboats, canoes, kayaks, rafts, tents, canopies and other equipment.
Ensures proper internal controls are followed to protect minor property, fixed assets, resale merchandise, supplies, records, and is held accountable for all equipment involved in the rental program.
Maintains rental, program, and shop equipment maintenance and repair records.
Cleans, maintains, repairs and inspects equipment associated with recreational vehicle, travel and other trailer assemblies, such as propane, plumbing, water heaters and tanks, heating systems, holding tanks, bathroom fixtures, refrigerators, pumps, axle assemblies, bearings, brakes, electrical systems and any other equipment components.
Maintains a clean and orderly workshop and equipment compound.
Trains personnel in proper use of hazardous materials, machines, equipment and tools. Instructs co-workers on cleaning, maintenance, hooking up trailers, equipment checkout, and adjusting and setting up a variety of equipment for customer use.
Uses technical manuals, catalogs and consults with vendors and manufacturers to research and order equipment, parts, tools and materials necessary for equipment maintenance and repair.
Keeps the Material Safety Data System up to date and within base standards and ensures equipment, workshop and facility comply with inspection and safety standards.
Uses a computer for data entry, reports, research and communication.
Assists in preparing, administering, and monitoring annual budgets for the maintenance and repair shop.
Performs other duties as assigned.
