Heavy Equipment Mechanic
Heavy Equipment Mechanic EVT II – Silverdale, Washington (Bangor). Non‑exempt, full‑time day shift. Compensation: $48.52 per hour.

Responsibilities- Perform maintenance on wheeled vehicles, track vehicles, engineer equipment, power generation, and material handling equipment.
- Accomplish minor repairs and perform services outlined in established technical manuals.
- Inspect and repair brakes, suspension, wheels, hubs, and steering systems.
- Understand and follow technical manuals, lube orders, wiring, and hydraulic schematics to diagnose and repair equipment during annual services.
- Perform major repair jobs by disassembling, cleaning parts, removing and installing assemblies and components.
- Maintain operational vehicle maintenance schedules.
- Produce various reports, including schedules, training, attendance, evaluations, employee documentation, timekeeping, and accident reports.
- Train employees on job tasks and assignments to ensure complete understanding.
- Monitor employee performance to ensure efficient use of time and task completion.
- Maintain professionalism in appearance and demeanor.
- Coach, mentor, and resolve employee concerns respectfully.
- Record daily personnel attendance and track absences and tardiness.
- Maintain operational readiness for potential call‑back availability based on operational needs.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 5–8 years of experience as an automotive mechanic or in a closely related field.
- Certifications supporting EVT Level 2 Fire Apparatus and ARFF Vehicle Technician, including ASE (T‑2 through T‑7) and EVT (F‑1 through F‑4, A‑1 through A‑2).
- Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B preferred.
- Knowledge of military vehicles and equipment.
- Ability to read and understand technical manuals.
- Ability to troubleshoot repairs on brakes, suspension, wheels, hubs, and steering systems.
- Lift or move up to 70 pounds.
- Reach, kneel, walk, stand, and perform repetitive motions for several hours.
- Stand or sit for extended periods, climb in and out of vehicles, and enter and exit stairs.
- Maintain perseverance under pressure for extended periods.
- Valid state driver’s license with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance.
- Real‑‑compliant driver’s license, U.S. passport, or military for federal military installation access.
- Obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access.
- Undergo a background check and E‑Verify.
