Instructional Assistant I

Position type:
Part‑time – 6 hours per day. Flexible schedule required to support a diverse student population.
Instructional Assistants work under the direction of licensed staff to support student learning, engagement, and success. Responsibilities include assisting with instruction, reinforcing skills, supporting behavior, and helping implement individualized supports in both general education and specialized settings.
Minimum Qualifications- High School Diploma or GED
- Must meet Federal “Highly Qualified” requirements.
- Associate’s degree or 2 years of college coursework, or
- Ability to pass a district academic and instructional support assessment
- First Aid/CPR certification (or ability to obtain)
- Experience in a school setting is preferred but not required
- Hourly wage: $17.53 – $22.45 (Classified Wage Schedule 2025–26)

- Work with students individually, in small groups, and whole‑class settings
- Assist in implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and student support strategies
- Supervise students across all school environments (classrooms, hallways, cafeteria, playground, buses, etc.)
- Support positive student behavior using district‑approved strategies and interventions
- Assist with student assessment, grading, and progress monitoring
- Provide academic, behavioral, physical, and personal care support as needed
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional standards at all times
