Position: Accountant I

Work Model

You’ll work in a hybrid model, onsite at your designated Regal Rexnord location at least 3 days per week (Monday–Thursday), with flexibility to work remotely up to 2 days, including Friday.

Brief Description

The General Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the organization’s accounting processes in accordance with GAAP. This role contributes to the monthly close process, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and compliance, while ensuring the integrity of financial data and supporting business decision‑making. The position works closely with both Finance and Operations to ensure accurate data, timely reporting, and visibility into manufacturing performance.

The role focuses on data accuracy, analysis, and execution, while helping identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

Essential Functions
  • Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger.
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
  • Support the month‑end close process, ensuring deadlines are met and results are accurate.
  • Maintain and reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts.
  • Assist with preparation of financial statements and internal reports.
  • Analyze financial data and provide variance explanations.
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes as needed.
  • Maintain proper documentation and audit trails for all accounting activities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, and reporting efficiency.
  • Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.
  • Assist with cycle count processes, including coordination with operations and review of count results.
  • Support the excess and obsolete (E & O) inventory review process, including data preparation and analysis.
  • Investigate and help resolve discrepancies in inventory, production, and cost data.
  • Prepare and distribute routine reports to support operations and finance teams.
  • Assist with documentation and improvement of accounting processes and reporting tools.
  • Perform daily review and reporting of inventory and labor activity.
  • Provide actionable analysis to identify and reduce Job Order Variances.
  • Make assessments and recommendations based on review and analysis of variances to standards.
  • Resolve problems in an expeditious fashion.
  • Guide manufacturing in performing routine cycle counting activity and audit results.
  • Support maintenance, review, and updates of standard costs.
Desirable Capabilities and Success Factors
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 2–5 years of general accounting experience.
  • Knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Net Suite, etc.).
  • Strong Excel skills (lookups, pivot tables, data analysis).
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Salary Range

$75,000 - $90,000 annually (dependent on factors such as location, experience, and internal comparison).
