Parker Meggitt, an addition to Parker Hannifin, is a global leader in the Commercial and Military Aerospace markets, specializing in a wide range of products including fire and smoke detection systems, extinguishing systems, bleed air overheat detection systems, actuators, rudder pedal assemblies, pumps, fuel gauging systems, and high-temperature cables. Located in Simi Valley, CA, this site is within the Fire Safety & Power Systems Division (FSPSD) and is a key supplier in select energy markets, particularly in nuclear gas analyzers and nuclear containment vessel penetration cables.
We work directly with some of the largest aerospace companies in the world, including Airbus, Boeing, Embraer, and Lockheed Martin, among others.
The Demand Planning Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the demand planning process to ensure optimal inventory levels and alignment with business objectives. This role involves analyzing historical sales data, collaborating with cross‑functional teams, and utilizing forecasting tools to develop accurate demand forecasts. The Demand Planning Manager will play a critical role in maintaining customer satisfaction while minimizing excess inventory and stockouts.
The Demand Planning Manager is responsible for analyzing, planning and managing the flow of materials to ensure they are provided according to schedule.
- Develop and maintain demand forecasts using quantitative and qualitative methods.
- Analyze historical sales data, market trends, and seasonal variations to create accurate demand projections.
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and finance teams to incorporate promotional plans and market insights into forecasts.
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure alignment with demand forecasts to optimize stock availability and minimize excess inventory.
- Establish safety stock levels and reorder points based on demand variability and lead times.
- Coordinate with supply chain and procurement teams to ensure timely replenishment of inventory.
- Liaise with cross‑functional teams to align demand planning with production schedules, sales strategies, and marketing initiatives.
- Facilitate regular meetings with stakeholders to review forecasts, discuss potential issues, and adjust plans as necessary.
- Communicate demand planning metrics and performance to senior management.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements within the demand planning function.
- Implement best practices and tools to enhance forecasting accuracy and efficiency.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to demand planning and inventory management.
- Utilize demand planning software and analytical tools to generate reports and dashboards that provide insights into demand trends and forecasting accuracy.
