Parker Meggitt, a recent addition to Parker Hannifin, is a global leader in the Commercial and Military Aerospace markets, specializing in a wide range of products including fire and smoke detection systems, extinguishing systems, bleed air overheat detection systems, actuators, rudder pedal assemblies, pumps, fuel gauging systems, and high-temperature cables. Located in Simi Valley, CA, this site is within the Fire Safety & Power Systems Division (FSPSD) and is a key supplier in select energy markets, particularly in nuclear gas analyzers and nuclear containment vessel penetration cables.
We work directly with some of the largest aerospace companies in the world, including Airbus, Boeing, Embraer, and Lockheed Martin, among others.
NDT Technician
Position Summary:
Performs nondestructive testing to determine the existence of flaws, discontinuities, leaks, contamination, thermal anomalies or imperfections in aircraft materials, components or assemblies without impairing the integrity or function of the inspected component. Conducts test activities and records results in accordance with established testing plan and specifications. Dismantles, adjusts, repairs and assembles test equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, operating or repair manuals, and schematics.
May perform equipment modifications as directed by engineers.
Responsibilities:
* The NDT Inspector completes work according to instructions, specifications, and procedures.
* Conducts a variety of Non-Destructive Tests, including liquid penetration inspection (PT)
* Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary
* Experience interpreting and completing the process controls required for penetrant inspection, e.g., proper lighting, temperatures, system performance evaluations, etc
* Experience processing parts through the complete penetrant inspection cycle
* Experience documenting liquid penetrant inspection results
* Familiarity with the scope and limitations of the liquid penetrant method
* Liquid penetrant inspection in accordance with industry standard
* Responsible for reviewing and writing procedures, prep work for audits, and participating in internal and external audits.
Penetrant Inspection (PT):
Qualifications
* 4+ years of NDT experience as a certified technician
* 1200 Penetrant logged Hours (level II) per NAS

* Aerospace, Oil & Gas, Manufacturing background
* Experience with welding, heat treating, machining, and assembly processes and procedures a plus
Education & Experience:
Education:
High School Diploma/Equivalent and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations.
Certifications:
Vocational training, apprenticeships or the equivalent experience in related field
