Parker Meggitt, a recent addition to Parker Hannifin, is a global leader in the Commercial and Military Aerospace markets, specializing in a wide range of products including fire and smoke detection systems, extinguishing systems, bleed air overheat detection systems, actuators, rudder pedal assemblies, pumps, fuel gauging systems, and high-temperature cables. Located in Simi Valley, CA, this site is within the Fire Safety & Power Systems Division (FSPSD) and is a key supplier in select energy markets, particularly in nuclear gas analyzers and nuclear containment vessel penetration cables.
We work directly with some of the largest aerospace companies in the world, including Airbus, Boeing, Embraer, and Lockheed Martin, among others.
PROGRAM MANAGER (AEROSPACE)
Job Description:
The Program Manager (Aerospace) will manage and is accountable for the contract performance for programs or a set of related projects to achieve programmatic business objectives throughout the program lifecycle. Serve as the customer support and ensures effective program management processes, schedule, cost, resources, risk, program change management, and commitments to customers are met.
Responsibilities:
* Manages a program or combination of programs of broad scope and complexity. Programs typically are for a large or a diverse set of customers, market segment(s) or product line(s).
* Responsible for integrated program schedules, data integration, tracking of financial and quality performance, and implementation of corrective actions covering all areas of program responsibility. Addresses critical issues on complex programs and leads the team to develop action plans to improve performance.
* Ensures successful customer relationships by responding to all customer requests and serving as the primary point of contact for assigned program activities, status and problem resolution. Is responsible for the negotiation of contract changes related to scope management.
* Serves as key presenter and facilitator at major program reviews. Ensures meeting actions are documented and communicated.
* Acts as a consultant to management on specific programs or overall program management. Establishes goals and objectives required to complete programs. Provides mentoring within program management and leadership to varied project teams.
* Works closely with other internal marketing and external sales teams to pursue new opportunities emerging from existing programs
Qualifications:
* Education requirement:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, sciences, business or a related field. Advanced degree (MS/MBA) is preferred.
* Years of experience: 5-7 years of experience in aerospace manufacturing industry.
* Certification: PMP certification required, typically within 6 months of assignment. Additional certifications (e.g. PMP, PMI‐PMP) preferred.
* Prior program or significant project management experience.
* Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job typically acquired through five to seven years related work experience.
* Expert knowledge and proficiency with program management processes, methodology, and architecture.
