POSITION DETAILS:

• New, higher salary ranges now in effect: $111550.40 – $143457.60 + Excellent Benefits
• Three market-based compensation range adjustments (January 2027, July 2027, July 2028)
• Cost-of-living increases of 3% in July 2027 and 3% in July 2028
• Annual performance reviews with increases of up to 5%
• Generally, salary placement is at the beginning of the salary range.
• Advanced placement may be granted depending on related education and experience.
• Full-time, regular position
• 9/80 work schedule with alternating Friday off

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

• Education/Training:
  Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in engineering or architecture with specialized course work related to area of assignment.
• Experience:
  
  Four years of professional engineering experience related to area of assignment including one year of administrative and/or lead supervisory responsibility.
• License or Certificate:
  Possession of registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of California. Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid driver's license.

• Lead Major CIP Projects — You excel at guiding complex capital improvement projects from concept through construction. Delivering high-quality, reliable water infrastructure that supports long-term system performance.
• Own Your Projects — You proactively manage multiple projects, keep timelines on track, and deliver results with independence and confidence.
• Hydraulic Modeling Proficiency — You have proven experience developing, calibrating, and maintaining hydraulic models that support system planning, operational analysis, and long-term infrastructure design.
• Technical Precision — You bring a sharp eye for detail, reviewing engineering plans and technical submittals for accuracy, compliance, and constructability.
• Regulatory Knowledge — You're familiar with applicable regulations, codes, policies, and permitting requirements and help ensure compliance.
• Council Reporting and Communication — Demonstrated experience preparing staff reports, agenda materials, and PowerPoint presentations for City Council meetings, translating complex technical issues into concise and actionable information for decision-makers.
• Supportive Team Leadership — You excel at mentoring engineers and technicians, fostering growth, teamwork, and building a high-performing team culture.
• Collaborative Partnership Skills — You work effectively with consultants, developers, and partner agencies to deliver facilities that meet District standards and advance long-term goals.
