We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead end-to-end mechanical automation projects involving special purpose machines (SPMs), robotics integration, tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing systems. This role is responsible for managing projects from concept to commissioning while ensuring delivery within scope, schedule, and budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead automation and machine-building projects from concept through commissioning
- Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, resources, and risks
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including design, manufacturing, procurement, quality, and installation
- Act as the primary customer interface for project updates and issue resolution
- Oversee design reviews and ensure compliance with technical and safety standards
- Manage suppliers, fabrication, machining, and assembly activities
- Track project KPIs related to cost, schedule, and quality
- Support FAT, SAT, installation, and final customer handover
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean principles
- Maintain project documentation, BOMs, and engineering records
Required Skills
- 5-7 years of experience in industrial automation, SPMs, or machine building
- Strong project management experience in capital equipment or automation projects
- Solid understanding of mechanical design, GD&T, and manufacturing processes
- Experience with assembly, installation, and commissioning activities
- Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and material handling systems
- Proficiency with MS Project or similar tools
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience with robotics integration and automated assembly systems
- Knowledge of Industry 4.0 and smart manufacturing
- Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or APQP
- PMP or equivalent certification
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master's preferred)
- 5-7 years of relevant experience in automation or capital equipment projects
