Cost Accountant II​/Analyst

Overview

The Analyst/Cost Accountant position is responsible for financial planning and analysis, maintaining sub-ledger accounts related to inventory, cost of sales, expenses, manufacturing spending and variances per GAAP requirements for the PSI Bearings operation. It supports operations management by providing prompt and relevant reports, improving production efficiency while reducing spending and waste. The role also recommends and supports the development of product line reports that highlight performance of specific business segments.

It may lead and direct the work of others, communicate and monitor compliance and reporting requirements, and support the closing process.

• Timely and accurate financial reporting and forecasting
• Perform month‑end closing, forecasting, and reporting
• Analyze variance to budget and forecast
• Perform daily review and reporting of inventory and labor activity
• Support maintenance, review, and updates of standard costs
• Guide manufacturing in performing routine cycle counting activity and audits results
• Provide actionable analysis to identify and reduce Job Order Variances
• Makes assessments and recommendations based on review and analysis of variances to standards
• Lead quarterly slow or non‑moving inventory (E&O) process
• Influence across multiple functional dimensions and communicate and educate management and staff level personnel on financial expectations, audits adherence to expectations
• Support the business with analysis of profitability overall and by relevant business segments
• Resolve problems in an expeditious fashion
• Assist in annual budgeting process
• Support with ad‑hoc projects and financial reporting

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration is required
• 3–5 years of hands‑on cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of GAAP
• Hands on experience in financial closings
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
• Well versed in analyzing vast data utilizing Microsoft Excel
• Proficiency with One Stream and Microsoft Navision is preferred
• Pro‑active, analytical, accurate, conscientious, customer‑oriented, results‑oriented
• Demonstrated business acumen and understanding of processes to facilitate continuous improvement
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• High energy with ability to multi‑task
• MBA or CPA is desired

Expected Salary: $75,000 – $115,000 a year. Several factors are considered when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role responsibilities, candidate’s work experience, skills and education.
