- Independently analyzes demand, decides quantity to buy and negotiates purchases of inventory materials up to $25k per MRP.
- Places PO’s for inventory and non-inventory items and follows up as required to assure an adequate material supply.
- Ensures an uninterrupted supply of material while maximizing inventory turns.
- Resolves quality and delivery problems.
- Sources new items with new and existing suppliers.
- Identifies potential suppliers and qualify as required.
- Identifies cost reduction opportunities through competitive bidding, negotiation, and design changes.
Implements as feasible. - Evaluates suppliers and provides feedback to improve performance, especially in the areas of lead time, on-time delivery, delivered cost, terms, and quality.
- Develops and maintains long-term relationships with key suppliers such such that we are viewed as an excellent customer worthy of preferential treatment.
- Other duties as assigned
- BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience.
- Three (3) years relevant work experience using MRP applications.
- NAPM/APICS certification preferred.
- Capable of managing company-wide key supplier relationships.
- Capable of leading company-wide commodity responsibility.
- Knowledge of production and procurement procedures.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local procurement laws and regulations.
- Word processing and spreadsheet application (Microsoft Office preferred).
3+ years of Buyer experience within manufacturing
Pay: $75K - $95K DOE
Monday to Friday
8AM – 5PM schedule
