Sets up and operates equipment to coat products with powder base paint.
Essential Functions- Under minimal supervision, sets up powder coat and related equipment to exacting specifications and prepares equipment for production.
- Ensures that items are properly hung on conveyor hooks. Hangs and removes parts from hooks when parts are not available to powder coat.
- Inspects and maintains equipment for compliance with safety requirements, including but not limited to all guarding. Corrects any safety issue prior to operating the equipment.
- Inspects coated items for coverage and tests for coating thickness. Resolves quality and mechanical problems, making minor repairs and equipment adjustments as needed.
- Prepares parts for rework and applies powder to correct coating defects.
- Works from schedules and specifications.
- Assists and trains parts hangers in preparing and hanging parts for powder coat operation.
- Good mechanical skills including the use of hand tools.
- Good troubleshooting skills such that after a reasonable training period, employee will be able to evaluate operational problems of the equipment and know the proper corrective actions.
- Ability to read and understand equipment operating, maintenance, and troubleshooting manual.
- Ability to read and understand measuring devices as required for equipment set up or product inspection.
- Frequent standing, walking, carrying, lifting, stooping, and crouching.
- Work with powder coat materials and cleaning chemicals.
- Lift 40 lbs.
Pay range $20.00 - $21.00/hour DOE.
