Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled MaintenanceElectrician to join our blown film manufacturing facility. This role is critical in ensuring the continuous operation of our production lines by assisting in the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of machinery and equipment used in blown film production processes. The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of industrial machinery, strong attention to safety, and a proactive approach to maintaining optimal facility conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in performing routine maintenance and repairs on blown film machines, extrusion equipment, and other manufacturing tools and machinery.
• Conduct daily inspections of production equipment and facility infrastructure to identify potential issues such as leaks, worn parts, or malfunctions.
• Assist with troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues on production machines and recommend solutions to minimize downtime.
• Perform basic maintenance tasks such as cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting machines to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
• Support preventive maintenance programs, including the replacement of filters, belts, and other consumable parts in machinery.
• Help maintain an organized inventory of spare parts and maintenance supplies, ensuring that necessary materials are available when needed.
• Assist in the calibration and setup of machines for new production runs to ensure product quality and compliance with specifications.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment by adhering to safety guidelines and procedures.
• Assist with facility maintenance tasks like electrical, or mechanical as needed.
• Report any major equipment failures or malfunctions to the Maintenance Supervisor or Manager for prompt resolution.
• Collaborate with production staff to identify issues affecting the manufacturing process and help implement solutions.
• Follow safety procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, goggles, and hearing protection.
• Assist in performing emergency repairs and troubleshooting during production downtime.
• Support the implementation of new machines or equipment during the setup or installation process.
• Help with scheduled equipment shutdowns and overhauls as necessary.
• Maintain records of maintenance activities, including tasks completed, parts used, and hours worked.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training in industrial maintenance or machinery preferred.
• Previous experience in an industrial setting, preferably in a manufacturing environment, is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical systems, and machinery used in plastic manufacturing.
• Ability to work with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment to perform repairs and maintenance tasks.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Familiarity with industrial safety protocols and the ability to work in compliance with safety standards.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.) and perform physical tasks such as bending, reaching, and standing for extended periods.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills to collaborate with other staff and report issues clearly.
Preferred Skills:
• Experience with specific blown film manufacturing equipment, such as blown film machines, extruders.
• Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems used in production machinery.
