Job Description Field Service Technician – Windows & Doors San Luis Obispo, CA (Serving Santa Maria to Paso Robles Region)
Milgard Windows and Doors, part of the MITER Brands family, is seeking a skilled and customer-focused Field Service Technician to join our team based in San Luis Obispo, CA. This role services a regional territory from Santa Maria to Paso Robles, offering a strong opportunity to connect with customers across the Central Coast.

Monday through Friday, starting at 6:00 a.m.Compensation: $26.78 per hour (depending on experience)

• Diagnose and repair window and door product issues in the field
• Troubleshoot service concerns and determine root causes (installation, product, or performance-related)
• Perform repairs, adjustments, and part replacements
• Serve as the primary technician on service calls, ensuring timely and professional resolution
• Communicate clearly with customers to explain issues, solutions, and product care
• Accurately document service visits using company systems and mobile tools
• Follow work orders, schedules, safety protocols, and company standards
• Maintain clean and organized service vehicles, tools, and work areas
• Ensure customer homes and job sites are left clean and restored
• Manage and track parts inventory as needed
• Develop knowledge of MITER Brands product lines, installation methods, and warranty standards

• High school diploma or GED required
• Experience in window/door service, installation, carpentry, glazing, construction, or related field (level will be determined based on experience)
• Strong troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude
• Ability to work independently and problem‑solve in the field
• Proficiency with hand and power tools
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Comfortable using mobile devices (iPad or tablet) for documentation and scheduling
• Basic computer skills (email, data entry)
• Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
• Bilingual English/Spanish skills a plus
