Middle School History Teacher

Position: Middle School History Teacher - Full Time 2026-2027 School Year
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the Middle School Principal, the middle school history teacher will effectively teach from a biblical worldview while managing a classroom and building positive relationships with students and parents.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES/

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

* Effectively manage a classroom.

* Teach history from a biblical worldview and with excellence.

* Create an engaging, relational, and joy-filled learning environment with the students.

* Provide excellence in planning, teamwork, and communication.

* Be creative, have a strong work ethic, and think "outside the box".

* Work in a team-centered environment.

* Include biblical integration in all lessons.

* Engage students in inquiry-based activities.

* Other duties or responsibilities assigned by the supervisor.

QUALIFIED APPLICANTS:

* Must be a born-again believer in Jesus Christ; be involved with an evangelical, protestant church of like faith and practice; and agree with the philosophies, Statement of Faith and Statement of Christian Life Commitment of Southside Christian School. Willing to enroll eligible children at Southside Christian School.

* Must be able to articulate a deep understanding of a biblically informed philosophy of Christian education.

* Must have experience working directly with students. Experience in a middle or high school setting is preferred.

* Strong communication and presentation skills are required.

* Must be able to obtain ACSI Certification.

* Bachelor's degree in history is required. Master's is preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

* Ability to evacuate students in the event of an emergency.

* Ability to sit, bend, stand, as needed in interactions with students.

* Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
