Product Technology Engineer
As a Product Technology Engineer, you will play a key role in improving manufacturing processes and delivering innovative, high-quality products to our customers. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams—including R&D, Operations, Commercial, and Manufacturing—to develop new processes, optimize existing ones, qualify new raw materials, drive cost and quality improvements, and support the commercialization of new products. Your expertise will help enhance operational efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction while supporting extrusion, printing, and converting technologies.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement improved manufacturing methods to deliver high-quality products to customers.
Lead the qualification of alternative resins and raw materials to support cost savings, supply continuity, and obsolescence management.
Drive product line extensions and partner with R&D to commercialize innovative products.
Collaborate with customers, R&D, Business Leaders, and Engineering teams to resolve quality issues and identify value-added product opportunities.
Lead cost reduction initiatives and identify opportunities to improve operational profitability.
Serve as the technical lead for quality improvement projects and manufacturing troubleshooting using data-driven decision-making.
Stay current on advancements in plastics extrusion and web converting technologies while sharing best practices across manufacturing sites.
Manage cross-functional projects involving multiple plants and manufacturing areas to achieve business objectives.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or Chemical Engineering.
Experience with manufacturing processes such as extrusion, printing, laminating, web converting, and pouch/bag manufacturing.
Knowledge of statistical analysis tools and techniques.
Project management skills across multiple manufacturing sites and business functions.
Experience in process engineering or product development.
Familiarity with Design of Experiments (DOE), Lean Six Sigma, SPC, or similar methodologies (preferred).
Strong written, verbal, presentation, and negotiation skills.
Ability to work independently in a matrix organization with a proactive, self-driven approach.
Willingness to travel up to 20%.
