Role DescriptionStar EV is a well-capitalized, growing electric vehicle manufacturer with an expanding product portfolio and national dealer network. We are seeking an experienced Sales Director to lead our sales team, accelerate revenue growth, and expand market penetration across key EV segments.
This is a highly visible leadership role responsible for setting strategy, building high-performing teams, strengthening dealer relationships, and positioning Star EV as a leading EV brand in the marketplace
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute integrated sales strategies to drive revenue growth, market share, and brand positioning.
- Lead quarterly sales forecasting in partnership with Sales, Operations, and Purchasing to ensure optimal vehicle and parts availability.
- Lead, mentor, and hold the sales teams accountable for performance, growth, and results.
- Establish and manage national, regional, and local sales initiatives, including dealer programs, product launches, and promotions.
- Build and expand dealer, B2C, strategic, and university/college relationships, including securing large national dealer and strategic partners.
- Communicate company initiatives and build relationships with the dealer network.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Operations, Finance, and Service to ensure alignment and execution of sales initiatives.
- Monitor market and competitive trends to identify growth opportunities and risks within the EV and specialty vehicle markets.
- Oversee development of sales tools, digital assets and dealer support materials.
- Lead brand awareness and positioning initiatives to strengthen Star EV’s market presence.
- Establish KPIs for the sales team; analyze performance and implement corrective actions.
- Design and manage sales compensation and incentive plans to drive dealer growth and customer acquisition.
- Represent Star EV at industry events, trade shows, dealer meetings, and conferences.
- Stay current on EV technology, regulatory changes, and industry developments to inform strategy.
- Proven sales leader with a solution-based, value-driven selling approach, including economic value-added selling.
- Strong experience managing dealer channels and increasing dealer penetration.
- Highly motivated self-starter capable of operating independently while leading teams effectively.
- Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Highly organized with strong time, territory, and priority management skills.
- Demonstrated integrity, sound judgment, and accountability in managing company resources.
- Solid understanding of small task-oriented vehicle markets, EVs, or specialty transportation products.
- Technically proficient with Microsoft Office, CRM/ERP systems (SAP preferred), and virtual communication tools.
- Leadership strengths include integrity, strategic thinking, innovation, team building, results orientation, and financial acumen.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive sales leadership experience; automotive, EV, or dealership-based industries strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of dealership operations and dealer sales models.
- Proven ability to lead teams, influence outcomes, and drive revenue growth.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable strategies.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Passion for electric mobility, sustainability, and future transportation solutions.
- Approximately 25% travel, seasonally increasing up to 50%.
