Beast Mode Instructor is responsible for leading group exercise classes in a safe and effective manner. Not only will you be part of amazing mission driven work, we offer the following benefits for our Part‑time Staff.

• Arrive at the branch YMCA in a timely manner to clock or sign in and make necessary preparations to teach the class.
• Begin and end classes on time.
• Be prepared to teach the assigned class by establishing and announcing the class format and design. All equipment and music is appropriate for the class.
• All classes taught include a warm up, main body, and cool down (warm down‑water classes) and stretch.
• Keeps classes fresh by incorporating new music and exercises or movement patterns to classes.
• Know YMCA emergency procedures. Know location of first aid and AED equipment.
• Report all incidents/injuries to supervisor or MOD and fill out an incident report before leaving the building.
• Responsible for leaving the room in a clean and orderly condition, ensuring that all equipment is turned off and returned to appropriate storage areas and exercise mats and bikes are wiped down.
• Work cooperatively with supervisor and fellow instructors as part of a fitness team and demonstrate a team spirit by substituting for other instructors when available.
• Speak positively about other instructors to members and be knowledgeable about the group exercise program to recommend classes to members based on their abilities and/or interests.
• Act as an ambassador for the YMCA, connecting members by learning their names.
• Adhere to policies related to boundaries with consumers.
• Attend/complete required abuse risk management training.
• Adhere to procedures related to managing high‑risk activities and supervising consumers.
• Follow mandated reporting requirements.
• Adhere to job‑specific abuse risk management responsibilities.

• Minimum of current Cross Fit Level 1 Certification, USA Weightlifting Certification, or National Strength and Conditioning Association Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.
• Proficiency with Cross Fit exercises, experience with Olympic lifting, and ability to instruct at all ability levels with proper modifications.
• Current CPR/AED, First Aid, Child Abuse Prevention, and BBP certification.
• Excellent member service skills.
• Excellent knowledge of human anatomy, kinesiology, and physiology.
• Marketing and sales ability.
• Computer skills involving Microsoft Office and email.
• Desire for health, wellness, and fitness promotion.
• Ability to perform under stress and reach deadlines.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Personal passion for health and fitness.
