Position Summary
The Receptionist is responsible for the operation of the telephone and paging system. The Receptionist answers all incoming calls, redirecting them as needed. The Receptionist greets visitors and gives directions to residents, visitors, and guests, and supports clerical activities.
Responsibilities- 1. Receives and directs telephone calls in a professional and courteous manner
- 2. Ensures that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals needs and rights
- 3. Compiles reports and types general or technical material
- 4. Coordinates outgoing and incoming mail to the facility
- 5. Performs other duties are requested
- 1. Complies with applicable legal requirements, standards, policies and procedures including but not limited to those within the Compliance and Ethics Program, Standard/Code of Conduct, Federal False Claims Act and HIPAA
- 2. Participates in required orientation and training programs
- 3. Promptly reports concerns and suspected incidences of non-compliance to supervisor or Compliance Officer
- 4. Participates as requested in quality assurance and process improvement activities
- 1. High School degree or equivalent
- 2. This position requires that the employee be able to read, write, speak, and understand the spoken English language to ensure safety and wellbeing of our patients and visitors at the work site when responding to medical and physical needs
- 3. Must provide verification of vaccinations as mandated by federal, state, or local regulations
Physical Requirements
The responsibilities of this reaching, handling, feeling, pulling, lifting, carrying up to 20 pounds, and pushing up to 40 pounds
Job Skills- 1. Has strong organizational skills
- 2. Able to handle a variety of assignments, some of moderate complexity, requiring considerable familiarity with the operating details of the facility
- 3. Able to interpret and apply departmental procedures
- 4. Able to operate a computer and basic office equipment
- 5. Shows discretion in handling of confidential information
- 6. Has a pleasant and professional phone manner
- 7. Able to positively interact with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public
- 8. Has well developed verbal and written communication skills
- 9. Able to work independently, problem solve, and make decisions as necessary
