Director, Electronics Engineering

About the Role

Ensign‑Bickford Aerospace & Defense Company (EBAD) is seeking a Director of Electronics Engineering. The role will lead the electronics engineering team, drive the strategy for the electronics business, and develop a problem‑solving culture as the company expands.

• Engineering Process Excellence:
  Apply rigorous engineering processes, tools, and standards to ensure high‑quality outcomes across all phases of product development.
• Data‑Driven Performance Management:
  Establish and track meaningful KPIs, conduct root‑cause analysis, and drive corrective actions.
• Culture & Engagement:
  Champion a culture of integrity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Organizational Effectiveness:
  Support design, change management, and workforce planning for agility and scalability.
• Strategic Business Alignment:
  Collaborate with leaders in business development, sales, and customer engagement to align engineering capacity with customer needs.
• Technical & Industry Expertise:
  Bring extensive experience in electronics design and development, especially in high‑mix, low‑volume environments, and understand aerospace and defense product life cycles.

• BS/MS in electronics, electrical, computer engineering, physics, or related field.
• Minimum 15 years of project, design, or related electronics engineering experience.
• Proven experience leading complex electronic products through all stages of product development and into production.
• Experience in a high‑mix, low‑volume electronics development and manufacturing environment.
• Experience in managing, training, mentoring, and coaching leaders.
• Experience in aerospace, defense, manufacturing, or technology industries preferred.
• Proven ability to lead through change and influence cross‑functional teams.
• Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and relationship‑building skills.
• Passion for people, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Base Salary: $175k – $225k plus annual bonus. Executive relocation support and potential sign‑on incentives based on experience. Additional rewards may be tailored for extraordinary qualifications.
