We are hiring an Electrical Design Engineer II for a leading aerospace & defense manufacturer developing high‑reliability electronic systems used in mission‑critical applications. This is a hands‑on engineering role with full lifecycle ownership of circuit board design, development, and validation in a highly structured, regulated environment.
Location: Simsbury, CT (onsite)
Role OverviewThe Electrical Design Engineer II is responsible for designing, developing, and validating circuit board assemblies and subsystems, supporting the full product lifecycle from concept through integration and production in a high‑reliability environment.
Key Responsibilities- Design analog, digital, and mixed‑signal circuits and systems
- Develop schematics and support PCB layout and routing
- Perform circuit analysis, simulation, and risk assessment
- Support hardware fabrication, assembly, testing, and integration
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware performance issues during development and testing
- Participate across all phases of the product lifecycle (requirements, design, test, integration, support)
- Create and maintain technical documentation and design artifacts
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering
- 3+ years of experience in electrical or hardware design
- Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout tools (Altium preferred)
- Strong knowledge of analog and digital circuit design
- Strong problem‑solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills
- Experience in aerospace, defense, or highly regulated environments preferred
$100,000 – $130,000 + 5–10% bonus. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will start on the 1st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
