Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense Electronics Engineering Team is rapidly growing to support the development of Flight Termination Systems and Tactical electronics in support of Space & Defense applications. We are seeking an Electrical Design Engineer reporting to the Electrical Design Lead.
Responsibilities- Perform electronic hardware design, fabrication, assembly, test, and integration of circuit board assemblies and subsystems.
- Design analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuit boards.
- Perform circuit analysis and simulation.
- Create schematic designs.
- Conduct circuit board layout and routing.
- Perform risk analysis.
- Produce accurate design documentation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware performance issues during integration, test, and verification.
- Be involved in all phases of the product lifecycle: requirements definition, concept development, detailed design and implementation, test and integration, ongoing product support.
- Bachelor of Science (BS) in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with 3+ years’ experience.
- Active work experience in analog, digital, or mixed-signal designs.
- Thorough working knowledge of schematic capture and PCB layout.
- Experience with Altium Version 20 or newer.
- Knowledge of circuit simulation software (e.g., LTSpice).
- Active work experience performing electrical analyses including operating stress and electrical worst‑case.
- Experience with DOD, SAE, IEEE, and/or IPC standards.
- Knowledge of FPGA/VHDL and/or embedded C development.
- Experience performing risk analyses: FMECA, Fault‑Tree.
- Proficient with diagnostic tools for hands‑on testing and troubleshooting of PCBAs.
- Proficient in using digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, data acquisition systems, environmental chambers.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Preferred:
Experience with safety standards RCC‑319. - Preferred: knowledge of IPC‑222x design standards.
