Director of Pricing & Compliance
An innovative manufacturer serving highly regulated government markets is seeking an experienced Director of Pricing & Compliance to lead the strategic direction of government pricing, cost estimating, and regulatory compliance. This executive leadership role offers the opportunity to influence major contract pursuits, strengthen long term financial performance, and partner directly with senior leadership to drive profitable growth across a diverse portfolio of complex programs.
This position is ideal for a strategic leader who thrives at the intersection of finance, government contracting, and business strategy. You will play a pivotal role in developing competitive pricing strategies, guiding executive decision making, strengthening compliance practices, and building a high performing team that supports critical customer programs.
What You'll Do
- Lead enterprise government pricing strategy across cost reimbursable, fixed price, and incentive-based contracts, ensuring competitive, compliant, and profitable proposals.
- Direct the development of proposal pricing, cost estimates, financial models, and long-range forecasting to support new business pursuits, contract renewals, and strategic growth initiatives.
- Partner with executive leadership, business development, and cross functional teams to shape pursuit strategies, bid decisions, pricing approaches, and negotiation plans.
- Oversee indirect rate development, forward pricing activities, and financial analyses that strengthen cost competitiveness and long-term business performance.
- Ensure compliance with FAR, DFARS, Truthful Cost or Pricing Data requirements, and other applicable government contracting regulations while maintaining audit ready pricing practices.
- Serve as the primary interface with DCAA, DCMA, and government customers on pricing, cost, rate, and compliance matters, supporting successful negotiations and audit activities.
- Build, mentor, and lead a high performing pricing and compliance organization while fostering collaboration across Finance, Contracts, Engineering, Program Management, Legal, and Operations.
- Provide executive leadership with strategic financial insight on pricing risk, contract structures, regulatory changes, and growth opportunities that support informed business decisions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 10 or more years of experience leading government contracting pricing, cost estimating, compliance, and financial strategy within aerospace and defense or another highly regulated manufacturing environment.
- Extensive knowledge of FAR, DFARS, Truthful Cost or Pricing Data requirements, indirect rates, forward pricing, DCAA and DCMA interactions, and audit readiness.
- Demonstrated success leading proposal pricing for complex government programs.
- Strong executive presence with the ability to influence senior leadership and cross functional stakeholders.
- Experience building collaborative relationships across business development, finance, contracts, engineering, and operations.
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or other advanced business degree.
- Experience supporting growth within a privately held manufacturing organization.
- Background supporting major competitive pursuits and long-term government programs.
- Exposure to international defense programs or Foreign Military Sales.
