The North America Data Analytics team at Chubb is seeking an analytics application engineer with 4+ years of industry experience to join our fast-paced, high-energy team. This team is responsible for building data pipelines and delivering data science solutions to our business partners that will meet business objectives and move-the-needle to improve upon key performance metrics.
As an analytics application engineer for North America Data Analytics, you will develop solutions to complex business problems which combine industry standard practices with innovation. This position offers exposure to a wide variety of analytic tools and technologies. Be ready to meet data challenges head-on as you develop and refine data processes to marry data from multiple structured and unstructured data sources which ultimately feed into the evaluation, implementation, and monitoring of predictive models.
Inthis role you will:
- Collaborate with business partners and peers within the organization to understand and scope the problem, gather business requirements, and facilitate the data integration process.
- Create and maintain automated and semi-automated data pipelines within on-prem servers as well as in cloud (Azure).
- Play an active role in model deployment and testing.
- Create excellent working relationships with business partners across the Chubb organization, IT and Analytics peer groups.
- Effectively communicate with key stakeholders in written, oral and presentation formats.
- Significant programming experience Python to create scalable functions.
- Working knowledge/familiarity with Git version control.
- Solid understanding of databases and ETL/ELT best practices.
- Hands-on experience with big data technologies and cloud (Databricks/Spark, Azure/AWS/GCP).
- Experience with architecting and consuming APIs in a scalable fashion.
- Ability to multi-task, learn new things quickly, and have excellent problem solving & communication skills.
- A mindset for collaboration, self motivated, knowledge sharing, and keeping up to date on emerging industry trends.

- Comfortable with command line (Linux, Windows) scripting.
- Strong programming ability in SQL.
- Strong expertise in authoring ETL pipelines and processing data at scale.
- Experience with at least one other programming language (Julia, Scala, Go, Java, etc.).
- Exposure to technologies such as DBT, Apache Air Flow or Luigi.
- Working knowledge of containerization technologies [eg. Docker]
- Exposure to CI-CD pipelines.
- Comfortable with at least one No
SQL database (MongoDB, Elastic Search, CosmosDB, etc.).
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Physics, Mathematics or Engineering (advanced degree a plus).
