Manufacturing Engineer

This opportunity is located within our Ensign‑Bickford Aerospace & Defense Company (EBAD) business, a global leader in mission‑critical hardware and systems solutions including precision energetics systems and innovative explosive solutions. EBAD is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer with experience working in a manufacturing environment.

• Development and maintenance of manufacturing documentation (including manufacturing instructions, routings, process specifications and tooling) as well as product testing requirements and methods.
• Providing continuity during transitions from proposals to production.
• Solving manufacturing problems, investigating process failures and implementing corrective actions.
• Coordination with other departments to ensure the production viability of new designs, creation of the required documentation, and internal and customer approval of documentation.
• Interface with production personnel including operators, quality inspectors, and shop floor supervisors.
• Implementation of Lean methodologies including standard work, point-of-use tooling, material presentation and process improvements.
• Development of automated test fixtures and assembly tools.
• Development of layouts of manufacturing cell design including tooling, machinery and equipment.
• Creation of Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA).
• Creating standard work and contributing to manufacturing cell planning.
• Tracking status and ensuring completion of operations milestones and tasks for production programs.

• BS/MS in an engineering discipline, preferably mechanical engineering or manufacturing engineering and manufacturing or related engineering experience in multi‑part mechanisms and mechanical assemblies.
• Knowledge of space vehicle mechanisms and systems CAD, 3‑D modeling, assembly creation, drawings and GD&T.
• Design of tooling and fixtures.
• Design for Manufacturing methods and techniques.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with demonstrated ability to lead programs/projects.
• Formal problem analysis and resolution.
• Project management skills with the ability to document, plan, and execute programs.
• Working with aerospace products and processes.
• Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing practices.
• Enterprise/Manufacturing Resource Planning (ERP/MRP) systems.
• MS Office – Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Familiar with and able to work in MS Project.
