Cultivation Associate

Got a green thumb and a passion for plants? Our client - a well-established name in the cannabis industry - is looking for a Cultivation Associate to join their growing team in Simsbury, CT. This is a hands-on role where you'll be cross-trained across the entire plant lifecycle, from clone to harvest, building real, transferable skills in one of the most exciting industries out there.

Pay Rate: $17.00/hr

Location: Simsbury, CT

Job Type: Full Time | Non-Exempt

Shift: Monday - Friday | 6:00am - 2:30pm

Why You'll Love This Role

No two days look the same here. You'll get real exposure to every stage of cultivation - plant care, environmental monitoring, harvesting, curing - with training and support along the way. If you're curious, reliable, and want to grow your skill set (literally) alongside a team that values cross-training and shared knowledge, this is the place to do it.

Who You Are

You're excited to build a well-rounded skill set in cannabis cultivation and eager to learn every part of the garden. With guidance, you'll gain hands-on experience across the full production cycle. You bring curiosity, reliability, and a team-focused mindset - the kind of person who makes a cultivation operation run smoothly.

What You'll Do
  • Perform daily plant care - cutting, rooting, transplanting, watering, feeding, trimming, staking, and pruning
  • Track humidity, moisture, and temperature to maintain ideal growing conditions
  • Inspect plants for leaf health, bloom size, pests, or disease, removing any that don't meet standards
  • Assist with harvest - cutting, trimming, removing flowering tops, weighing product, and recording inventory electronically
  • Support the curing process - hanging and dry-racking flower, monitoring climate, labeling, weighing, and entering inventory data
  • Operate and maintain lighting, irrigation, and climate-control systems, keeping all cultivation areas clean and stocked
  • Pitch in during high-demand periods to help prepare and package products, including premium extraction items
  • Follow state regulations and security procedures for plant labeling and inventory entry
What You'll Bring
  • A natural green thumb and genuine passion for working with plants - professional or home-garden experience both count
  • Comfort in a fast-paced, team-based environment
  • Sharp attention to detail and consistency in every task
  • Strong documentation, inventory, and organizational skills to stay on top of a tight schedule
  • Solid math and measurement skills, with confidence operating a scale
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Ability to obtain a Cannabis Agent Card
  • Ability to pass a background check
Bonus Points If You Have
  • Knowledge of growing technologies like lighting, irrigation, soil, and nutrients, or hands-on experience in landscaping, horticulture, or agriculture
  • Understanding of different cannabis strains and their unique growing needs
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods (8-10 hours per shift)
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly, with occasional heavier lifts assisted
  • Frequent, repetitive use of hands and wrists
  • Repetitive bending, squatting, and reaching
  • Ability to climb ladders or step stools as needed
  • Comfortable wearing required PPE (masks, hairnets, beard covers, respirators, boot covers, scrubs, non-slip shoes, Tyvek suits as necessary)
Work Environment
  • Exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and strong plant odors
  • Exposure to soil, water, fertilizer, dust, pollen, and plant pathogens
  • Exposure to cleaning solvents such as isopropyl alcohol
  • Exposure to loud equipment noise (compressors, packaging machinery, alarms)
  • Exposure to CO2 manufacturing processes within OSHA-approved levels
