Job Summary
Reporting to the Assistant Director / Director of Finance, the Accountant / Senior Accountant (General Ledger) is responsible managing the month‑end closing of the hotel, reconciling balance sheets, and ensuring compliance with financial standards (e.g., USALI).
What You Will Be DoingKey responsibilities include posting journal entries, conducting intercompany reconciliations, and providing variance analysis for hotel operations.
Core Responsibilities & Job Scope- Month‑End & Year‑End Closing
Preparing, reviewing, and posting accruals, prepayments, and adjustment journal entries. Ensuring timely submission of financial reports to Owner, Management, or Corporate offices. - Balance Sheet Reconciliation
Reconciling bank accounts and all balance sheet accounts so that the books are properly prepared and accounted for. - Financial Reporting & Analysis
Preparing Profit & Loss (P&L) statements and providing variance analysis (actual vs budget/forecast) for hotel departments. - Intercompany Transactions
Reconciling transactions between the hotel, Owner, or sister properties. - Compliance & Audit
Ensuring compliance with internal controls, statutory regulations, and conducting internal audits on operational data. - Support & Collaboration
Assisting with budgeting and forecasting, and supporting Income Audit, Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable, if needed.
- Strong knowledge of USALI (Uniform System of Accounts for the Lodging Industry) preferred.
- Attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with operations and non‑finance departments.
- At least a Diploma or Degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 3–5+ years of experience, ideally in the hospitality industry.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Excel.
- Strong quantitative skills to interpret large datasets and identify performance trends.
- Ability to present complex data insights and coordinate with different departments.
- Detail‑oriented with the ability to work under pressure.
- Understanding of business ethics and professional decorum.
