About our team

Nomura’s Finance division plays a critical role in driving the strategies and direction of the firm by providing business advice to navigate risks and ensuring control of the firm’s books and records. The division comprises various functions including Business Finance and Control, Financial Control and Regulatory Capital Management, Tax, Treasury, Management Information & Cost Management and the Finance COO office.

For this program, you will have the opportunity to be placed in 1 of the following finance functions:

  • Business Finance and Control (BFC) – Comprised of Product Control, Valuations (Independent Price Verification) and Structured Deal Review (SDR). The function provides coverage for strong 2nd line of defense control to the revenue generating capacities within Investment Banking and Global Markets – supporting products such as Credit, Equities, Macro and International Wealth Management.
  • Financial Control & Regulatory Capital Management (FCR) – The key functions carried out by Financial Control includes Financial Reporting, Regulatory Reporting, Accounting Policy Group, GL Admin and Balance Sheet Control while Financial Resource Management monitors capital and ensures compliance with the rules and regulations promulgated by the local Regulatory bodies.
About the Program

Nomura offers well-structured training and support to develop your career and professional skills. Our goal is to help you advance by providing significant responsibilities and diverse experience through different tasks and project assignments.

As part of the 2-year program, you will have the opportunity to be placed directly in either BFC or FCR – allowing you a chance to work along our regional and global teams whilst being exposed to a wide breadth of finance disciplines. During the Graduate Program, you will:

  • Gain hands on experience and involvement in projects
  • Rotation opportunities within the function as per business needs
  • Be provided with sponsorship in obtaining the relevant professional qualification (i.e. CFA, CPA, CIMA, AICPA)
  • Have access to the tailored training allowing you with a strong foundation in the core Finance & project management skills required for your role
  • Learn how to use the key digital tools (Power BI, Alteryx & Python) and AI tools in your daily work
