Are you mechanically inclined, curious, and energized by hands‑on problem solving? Groschopp is looking for a Lab Technician to join our Engineering team and help bring new motor designs and product improvements to life.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys building, testing, troubleshooting, and working closely with engineers on prototype motors, gear motors, motor parts, and related components.

What You’ll Do

As a Lab Technician, you’ll play an important role in supporting new and modified product designs. You’ll help build prototypes, run tests, collect data, and keep the lab organized and ready for the next project.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Building prototype armatures, stators, gear motors, electronic controllers, and other motor‑related components
  • Running tests such as horsepower tests, temperature tests, life tests, electronic testing, and other lab testing
  • Collecting, organizing, and maintaining electronic test data
  • Keeping customer parts organized and easy to access
  • Maintaining a clean, organized lab area and making sure equipment is kept in proper operating condition
  • Working with Design Engineers to communicate project timing, prototype changes, print changes, tooling needs, and testing feedback
  • Helping identify tools, equipment, test equipment, and supplies needed for normal and special lab testing projects
  • Supporting continuous improvement efforts across the company
What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who enjoys hands‑on technical work and is not afraid to dig into a problem, ask questions, and figure things out.

A strong candidate will have:

  • A 2-year degree in Electrical Mechanical Technology or equivalent education and/or experience
  • Mechanical aptitude and strong problem‑solving skills
  • Interest in motors, testing, prototyping, or product development
