Provides dynamic and adaptable interpreter floater responsibilities that include accurate and culturally sensitive interpretation services, while seamlessly transitioning between the Mental Health and Dental Departments.

• Interprets sensitive information for patients and families as needed before, after, and during the patient/provider encounter, with discretion and tact.
• Communicates services to the patient and provides educational materials and resources as directed by the provider.
• Think quickly and analytically to resolve ambiguities and convey messages accurately in real‑time.
• Adapts, flexes, and adjusts approach to suit the needs of different clients/patients, environments, and interpreting modalities (such as simultaneous or consecutive interpretation).
• Implements personal stress management techniques to maintain focus, clarity, and composure under pressure or when interpreting sensitive information.
• Assists with general translation needs.
• Works closely with patients to ensure all necessary paperwork is completed correctly.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• High School diploma or GED
• Certified by the National Board of Certified Medical Interpreters (NBCMI) or the Certification Commission for Healthcare Interpreters (CCHI) (preferred)

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand for long periods of time.
