Summary

Lab Technician I will assist in the production of viral vaccines and related work in our Worthington, MN lab facilities.

Accountabilities

Reports to:

Production Supervisor

Supervises:
Has no supervisory responsibilities

Responsibilities
  • Assist with performing aseptic procedures including media preparation, antigen inoculation and harvest, tissue culture preparation and harvest (including adherent cells, suspension cells and primary cells harvested from chicken embryos), filling vaccines, etc.
  • Has the ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in an efficient and accurate manner.
  • Concurrent record keeping related to all pertinent documentation.
  • Prepare, clean, and sterilize glassware and equipment for use.
  • Successfully and accurately communicate results to supervisor.
  • Able to demonstrate and promote safe lab practices in all areas of work.
  • Acts within the guidelines established by the company policy.
  • Must understand and work with regulatory guidelines established by the USDA.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Work Environment

Fast-paced work environment. Team-centric lab. Able to lift up to 50 lbs on occasion. Noise level in production lab is typically moderate.

Education

High School diploma or GED. Aseptic technique and clean room experience preferred but not required.
