As a Quality Control Technician you will help ensure our manufactured products meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and craftsmanship. In this hands-on manufacturing role, you will inspect components and assemblies, verify conformance to engineering drawings and specifications, document inspection results, and work closely with Production and Engineering to solve quality issues before products reach our customers.
Duties:- Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections of manufactured parts and assemblies
- Verify dimensions and quality using calipers, micrometers, gauges, tape measures, and other inspection equipment
- Document inspection results and maintain accurate quality records
- Identify and communicate nonconforming materials or products
- Work with Production and Engineering to resolve quality issues and improve processes
- Verify calibration status of inspection equipment
- Support continuous improvement efforts within STI's Total Quality Control (TQC) program
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Experience using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and tape measures
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accurate documentation
- Basic math and computer skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with production and engineering teams
- Ability to work independently and follow established procedures
- Manufacturing quality inspection experience is a plus
- Experience in metal fabrication, machining, welding, or equipment manufacturing is beneficial
- Knowledge of GD&T, calibration systems, or nonconformance reporting is preferred
- Technical education or training in manufacturing, quality, machining, welding, or a related field is a plus
